  • To install Universal Filter, you'll need a little knowledge of JavaScript (JS) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), depending on how much you'd like to customize or style the filter on your website

  • After purchasing Universal Filter, you'll receive an email containing the complete installation guide.

    Simply add the provided code to Code Injection (or a Code Block if you're on the Personal plan), then customize the plugin settings to suit your website.

  • We provide FREE Basic Support, which includes help installing and activating Universal Filter using the Basic Configuration on your Squarespace website.

  • The Basic Configuration includes:

    • Category, Tags, and Dropdown filters.

    • Price/Title Sorters (free support covers Price Sorter only if your source collection is Products or a Summary Block of Products).

    • Search Field for searching any text inside your items.

    • Works with Squarespace List Collections including Blog, Products, Gallery, Events, Album, and Custom Post Types.

    • Also works with Summary Blocks and Gallery Blocks.

    • Some templates using an Index structure for galleries are also compatible.

    (1) The Universal Filter plugin filters product by category, tag, and price. It also filters by product variants and stock availability.

    (2) Sorts products by their:

    Universal Filter waits for your entire collection to load before loading the filter options which means a bigger collection (like a collection of 500 blog or 1000 products) will load slower than a smaller collection (like a 60-item portfolio or a 30-item summary block).

    How much time are we talking about?

    Between a second and a couple of seconds.

    If you’re using the filter on product pages you might experience a delay when adding new products, tags and categories. This is because we save your filter data on our server and the caching time is 10 minutes.

    But that’s it. If it takes longer than that contact us and we’ll fix it for you.

  • No, not necessarily, although because you need to paste the Universal Filter code in the Page Header Code Injection (which is not available on Basic plan) we recommend you use a business account.

    But you can still use the filter on Basic plan by pasting the filter code on a markdown block instead. Add a markdown block on your page, paste the filter code and save.

  • No, the Universal Filter license does not expire.

  • Yes, you can use Universal Filter on trial account. You can also use it on Basic Account through the Markdown Block (though this method is only a workaround since normally you add the code in the Code Injection).

  • Basic support is FREE, but this only include Basic Configuration (i. e. Categories, Tags, Dropdowns, Search Fields and Price/Title Sorting).

    Alternatively, you can use the Lazy Summary plugin to raise the limit of the Summary Block from 30 to unlimited. Please note however, that displaying more items in the outset will cause your page to slow down upon loading.

  • Yes, Universal Filter works with a combination of Categories and Tags. You can use the Universal Filter to implement multiple filters, nested filters or dropdowns to narrow down your customers selection or create a hierarchy or Categories and Tags.

  • No limits, but obviously operating thousands of items or tags is not a good idea because things run in the browser and the more filters or tags you add the slower your page becomes.

  • Because Universal Filter does not affect the number of items a block type can return, you are limited to the collection limit of the block you’re using.
