What you need to know:
-
To install Universal Filter, you'll need a little knowledge of JavaScript (JS) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), depending on how much you'd like to customize or style the filter on your website
-
After purchasing Universal Filter, you'll receive an email containing the complete installation guide.
Simply add the provided code to Code Injection (or a Code Block if you're on the Personal plan), then customize the plugin settings to suit your website.
-
We provide FREE Basic Support, which includes help installing and activating Universal Filter using the Basic Configuration on your Squarespace website.
-
The Basic Configuration includes:
Category, Tags, and Dropdown filters.
Price/Title Sorters (free support covers Price Sorter only if your source collection is Products or a Summary Block of Products).
Search Field for searching any text inside your items.
-
Works with Squarespace List Collections including Blog, Products, Gallery, Events, Album, and Custom Post Types.
Also works with Summary Blocks and Gallery Blocks.
Some templates using an Index structure for galleries are also compatible.
• • Squarespace 7.1 users can also use Universal Filter on Gallery Sections, Portfolio Pages (except Hover layouts), and User Item Lists (subject to collection limitations).
-
Universal Filter does not load additional items automatically. The maximum number of items depends on the block type you're using (typically around 20–30 items).
Exception: Blog List pages can load and filter all posts after Universal Filter is applied.
Need to load more than 30 items? Use Universal Filter together with the Lazy Summaries Plugin, which increases the Summary Block limit from 30 to unlimited.
You can also read about Squarespace collection limits.
Cache Time: Universal Filter caches data for approximately 10 minutes. If you've added new tags or categories, you may need to wait a few minutes or test in an incognito window or after clearing your browser cache.
-
If you're not a coder, we also offer Paid Support. Just send us a message and let us know how you'd like to use Universal Filter on your Squarespace website.

title (A-Z / Z-A),
date added (New - Old / Old - New),

number of stocks (high-low/low-high)
custom data
(3) And searches products by texts including titles, descriptions, IDs, SKUs, tags and categories.

Yes, the Universal Filter works great for team pages so you can filter by member’s specialty, position, tenure, location, branch, etc. Whether you’re using a list section, auto layout, blog pages or summary blocks for your team page, Universal Filter can help you.

-
Yes, the Universal Filter works on Squarespace version 7.0 just as well as it does on 7.1.
-
It depends on where you use it.
Universal Filter waits for your entire collection to load before loading the filter options which means a bigger collection (like a collection of 500 blog or 1000 products) will load slower than a smaller collection (like a 60-item portfolio or a 30-item summary block).
How much time are we talking about?
Between a second and a couple of seconds.
If you’re using the filter on product pages you might experience a delay when adding new products, tags and categories. This is because we save your filter data on our server and the caching time is 10 minutes.
But that’s it. If it takes longer than that contact us and we’ll fix it for you.
